Trust & safety at Patinad

A marketplace only works when people behave well in it. Here's what we expect from every buyer and seller — and what we do to hold the line.

No anonymous listings

Every listing is tied to a real, signed-in account with a name, location and account type. Sellers are accountable for what they list and how they describe it.

Every listing is reviewed

New listings enter Pending Approval and are checked by our team before they go live. Listings can be rejected with a reason and re-submitted.

Honest imagery

Photos must be your own, of the actual piece, in natural light. No stock photos, no screenshots, no heavy filters. Weak or misleading imagery may be rejected.

Keep it on Patinad

Message sellers in-app. We never expose private email addresses. Never accept off-platform payment, deposits by bank transfer to strangers, or pressure to move to another app.

Report anything

Any listing or seller can be reported from the listing page. Reports are private — we never share your identity with the person you reported.

Prohibited items

No mattresses, no electrical goods, no upholstered items without fire labels, no counterfeit or misattributed designer pieces, no stolen goods.

Buying safely
  • · Ask for extra photos before you commit — good sellers will send them.
  • · Check dimensions against your doorways and stairwells.
  • · Keep every conversation inside Patinad messages.
  • · Never pay a deposit to an account you can't verify.
  • · Inspect the piece at collection wherever possible.
Selling responsibly
  • · Describe faults honestly — chips, marks, repairs, woodworm history.
  • · Only claim a designer or maker when you can support it.
  • · Keep availability accurate: mark pieces Reserved and then Sold.
  • · Don't relist items you no longer have.
  • · Trade and hotel sellers: bulk lots are reviewed before going live.
